"H-Hi,"I muttered, once again throwing grammar to the winds.
She didn't say a word, just stood there and stared at me,her once vibrant,blue-green eyes were now twin dark orbs of malovenence, threatening to destroy my soul from the inside.I was terrified.
"Erm...,"I told her,"Do I have-e the privilege o-of talking t-to y-you in-n pri-private?" I was absolutely tongue-tied. I cursed and swore quietly to myself.
She didn't say a word, just walked to a quiet corner, leaned against the wall, and folded her slender arms, left foot tapping impatiently on the marble floor. Her eyes never left mine for even a nanosecond, cold, unfeeling and as deadly as ever.
That was my cue to begin.I swallowed.I had been doing that a lot these few days.
So I began.I spilled my guts out to her and kept apologising.I must have clocked at least eighty"I'm Sorry"s in about a minute. Finally,I finished. I heaved a huge sigh of relief.Nonetheless, her face remained indifferent, still as harsh and unforgiving as ever, the direct opposite of the sweet girl I used to-and still-like. Then,to my horror, she started to walk away!
"Wait! Sophia!Don't go! I love you!"I screamed my lungs out.
That got her attention. She turned and,for the first time in the six minutes since we met, smiled. Her smile infused me with newfound freshness, and replaced my haggard face with a very happy one. Twenty-six pairs of eyes watched intently at the young couple who looked like they came out of a Korean drama.
Slowly,precisely,she walked towards me.
She reached out held my hand.
I gripped it tight.
Thus was the end of our friendship, and the beginning of a lifelong romance.
The End
